A Personalized Event Planning App
Introduction
PlanDit was designed as part of a course assignment aimed at simplifying the planning and management of small-scale events. The task was clear: create a user-friendly solution to streamline event planning for occasions like birthday parties, BBQs, Bachelor/Bachelorette parties and more.
PlanDit was envisioned as a mobile app that not only streamlines the event planning process but also adds a unique touch to each occasion. It includes features such as sending invitations, budget control, task management, guest list management, itinerary planning, and the ability to upload images and videos.
Problem Statement-
Help people plan small events, such as birthdays, bachelor & bachelorette party, Bar-B-Q small friends party, picnic with some friends, and so on.

Who uses this?
Understanding my users is crucial for creating a tailored event planning experience. By identifying and empathizing with my target audience, I've crafted PlanDit to cater to their diverse needs and preferences.
From event enthusiasts to meticulous organises, this app is designed to make event planning accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The app will mostly be used by individuals who organises small events like parties, picnics or any kind of small events and needs a platform to arrange all the things like guest list, tasks, budget control, invitations and more at one place instead of using different platforms.
User Persona
With the help of the persona, I derived a user story and built a user flow out of it, both of which are displayed below.
User Story
Ritesh was currently little busy with some personal matters and was looking for an opportunity to catch up with his friends because it’s been a long time he met them, so he decided to plan a party. But as he was planning, it was difficult for him to keep all the things associated with the party to manage as he was never a person who could do such things without anyones help. Based on his past experience he usually used to make mistake and forget on thing or the other.
Therefore, he needs a mobile app where he can arrange all the tasks, budget, invitation to guest and itinerary to be at one place and he can manage it accordingly because he wants it to be successful.
Wireframes
These wireframes are early-stage representations of the PlanDit user interface. They serve as the foundational blueprints for the app's design. While they lack the visual polish of the final user interface, they play a critical role in defining the layout, structure, and functionality of the app.
Design Elements and Styles
Logo
The logo of PlanDit is my personal creation. It cleverly combines the app's name into its design, symbolizing the essence of simplified event planning.
Colour Palette
The color palette revolves around four primary colours, Deep Purple (#7954A1), Lilac (#C55FFC), #EFDCF9 (Pale Lavender) and #323E42 (Charcoal Grey) along with Neutrals which form the core identity of PlanDit.
There are also colour used for indicating status of some elements in the app.These colors evoke creativity and a sense of celebration, making them ideal for our event planning app.
Iconography
The icons featured in this project have been sourced from Google's Material Design Kit. These icons were chosen to maintain a consistent and modern visual style, aligning with the principles of Material Design, which emphasizes clarity, simplicity, and intuitive user interfaces. Additionally, a few of these icons were customized and redesigned to better align with the unique needs and aesthetics of the website.
Typography
The typography choice, Jost, enhances the app's readability and aesthetics, providing a clean and modern look that aligns with the user-friendly design approach. These design elements collectively contribute to the app's user-friendly and visually appealing interface.
The Final UI
Purposeful Onboarding
The onboarding process is designed to provide clarity from the start. It clearly communicate the app's primary objectives, including simplifying event planning, efficient task management, and effective budget control. Users understand the app's value proposition right from the beginning.
User-Friendly Sign-Up
In addition to traditional sign-up, users can swiftly join via their social accounts or opt to enter the app as guests. This flexibility ensures that the sign-up process aligns with each user's preferences.
Tailored Personalization
The personalization process empowers users to define their event planning style. They can specify the types of events they commonly plan, their preferred themes, and even how they like to communicate with guests. This customisation ensures a tailored experience for every user.
Vendor and Service Insights
The app ask the users about the vendors and services they usually use for the events, helping it provide recommendations aligned with their preferences. This feature simplifies the vendor selection process, making event planning even more convenient.
Main Navigation
Home Screen
The Central hub for event creation along with viewing upcoming gatherings, explore vendors, quick actions and explore event inspiration.
Event Screen
Easy access and management of all the created events, each with its own unique details, including guest lists, location, and more.
Profile Screen
User's personalised space, allowing them to manage their account, preferences, event history, and more.
Notification Screen
Task Reminders, Guest Responses, Exclusive Offers, Event Updates, and more - all in one place for the users, to help them keep updated on these things to make sure they don't miss out on anything.
Event Creation
Effortless Event Creation
New users are greeted with a clear prompt to create events, while returning users access their upcoming events. A prominent Floating Action Button (FAB) simplifies event creation with a single tap, ensuring an easy and user-friendly experience.
Event details can be easily filled out in the event form, saved, and invitations sent.
Other Event Essentials
Event Schedule made easy by planning it out in the Itinerary with activities and timings, which can be rearranged accordingly.
Managing the Guest List is made easy by tracking their responses and contributions as an added feature.
The event expenses will be kept in check in Budget with the app's detailed budget tracker.
The Organisations of the tasks related to event can be efficiently managed in Tasks with Due dates and to whom they are assigned
The Event Gallery will have all the images and videos uploaded of the event as "memories", all at one place.
